This program is right for you if:
  • You want to serve your community in a way that fully utilizes your unique gifts and leadership style.

  • You sense that God is asking YOU to create something in your community that doesn’t exist yet.

  • You long to lead and teach about Jesus but don’t feel like you have enough knowledge or know-how to step out and start.

CommonPlace provides everything you need to lead in your own context. All you have to do is be YOU.

How it works

  • You learn to lead by leading. If you have the desire to lead, but lack the opportunity to do so, CommonPlace gives you an opportunity to lead a study group with community support and an impact strategy in place. Whether you invite one friend or 500, our resources don’t require a lot of prep time or energy.

  • A clear direction and leadership materials. You can choose from our beautiful collection of resources to find a study that fits your community’s needs. Our content has been market-tested and proven to establish trust and meaningful connection among friends old and new.

You’ll also gain instant access to our leadership collective when you purchase your leader guide.

  • Another benefit to becoming a leader is the community you will be a part of. CommonPlace leaders will be provided with an access code to join CommonPlace Community Zoom calls where you can ask questions of fellow leaders to gain support, encouragement, and prayer.

Common questions

  • Great job! Good news, you have choices. Currently, we have up to 30 weeks of transformative content and community impact opportunities for leaders. But we are constantly adding new resources to our collection, so there will always be new resources for you to use.

  • Since we are a nonprofit we do not accept returns. This is because we want to protect and honor the partnerships we have established with those who financially benefit from our resources. Even if our resource wasn’t your cup of tea, every sold resource is a charitable donation for the under-resourced.

  • Absolutely! In fact, churches tend to be the ones who see the fastest return on our resources. We have a very high retention rate for small group development, a reputation for building trust equity quickly among strangers, and have mentored and developed new ministry leaders to lead confidently in their own context.

  • If you are a church or ministry and you’d like to buy bulk copies of our studies, please contact us directly and we can do a custom order for you. We don’t offer bulk discounts, because we are a non-profit and really enjoy giving away as much as we can to benevolent causes in the community.

  • Currently, we have established non profit partnerships in place and are committed to fulfilling our financial pledge to them before we accept new nonprofit nominations. However, if there is a specific need in your community that you’d like us to be aware of for potential partnerships, please [contact us] with those details as we would love to consider them for future resources.

  • Rest assured, you will have all you need before you launch. Keep in mind that another benefit to becoming a CommonPlace leader is learning to trust your own leadership instincts. CommonPlace resources themselves are intuitive and well structured to take the pressure off of you to have all the answers. You will be provided with detailed instructions, a leader’s guide, a launch date, and a community support system, but we can’t tell you how to lead like yourself; only you know how to do that.

  • We write primarily for non-denominational Evangelical churches and leaders. Our resource development lead, Megan Johnson, has an Advanced Study Certificate in Theology from Western Seminary and is pursuing her Masters in Applied Biblical Leadership under the leadership of Gerry Breshears, Ph. D. Additionally, CommonPlace’s Creative Advisory Board represents a melting pot of denominational backgrounds. We believe there is unity in diversity and we seek voices and opinions that help us achieve that.

  • In the book of Acts. which documents the acts of early Christian leaders , everyone gathered in a room before they went out into the community and began healing and helping others. The strangest thing happened in that room: they began to speak in languages they had never learned and God gave them the gift to hear each other in their native language. CommonPlace resources help leaders communicate the Bible in the common language of shared experience--no matter your knowledge level, age, or experience.

100% of book profits are used to fund our nonprofit partners.

  • Sweetness. That is the word that comes to mind. There was such a sweetness about our short time together. You set the table. . . literally and figuratively. You set the table with beautiful food to be shared with all of us. You set the table/atmosphere for us to come together to listen to the Holy Spirit. Words were spoken/shared that changed every woman that was there. Thank you, Megan. It truly shifted something in my spirit and I woke up today feeling renewed both mentally and spiritually!

Last weekend was an absolute joy. Meeting other women and connecting in a safe space was so life-giving. I was super encouraged to hear what God had to say to speak life into each of us, and watching the Holy Spirit move through listening prayer together made that time incredibly impactful. I feel honestly reignited to step into the places where I know God is calling me, and I feel less fearful because of the reminders that were spoken to me this weekend. I am enough. He created me to be right were I am. The lies of the enemy have no power over me, and I am feel unhindered in this moment to move into the spaces I know God is calling me. Turn the page is a great title for this retreat, cause that is exactly what it did in my life, and I feel that others came away with that same sense. THANK YOU for listening to God's call on your life. The title waves I know this will set off as you continue to walk in God's purpose in your life are so impactful to HIS kingdom.

This last weekend was just totally Jesus setting a stage for the upcoming season of my life. Finding freedom in learning how to start the process to forgive others, see myself as God does and heal from my past. I needed it so bad, I’ve been in a “funk” for the last month or so and I wasn’t sure why but now I do. I needed to give myself permission to let go and open the deep wounds. It was also fun to connect with new woman, the enemy was putting lies in my head about the others and not being good enough in the space but they were so welcoming and nice. The drive there/back was a huge thing as well, seeing such peaceful scenery for 3 hours each way and having to force myself to slow down and look (safely) at Gods creation as I was driving. The teaching/vision prayer was awesome, being reminded of Gods beauty in me and that my identity has always been about my weight/the outside. But now I get to process that and work through it with fresh eyes. Im so excited to take what I have learned and apply it in a new way, not just reaching a goal or performing but also God...”what do you feel about that, tell me more and who do you say I am?”

It was a wonderful weekend of prayer, encouragement, meeting new friends, and hearing from the Lord. It came at a much needed time for my soul as the Holy Spirit spoke through His believers into my life and heart. God's timing, as usual, is perfect.

The retreat was so refreshing, I left feeling seen and very, very light. Being in a room filled with women who were all intentional about connecting and encouraging one another was very unique. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was incredible! I would definitely do a retreat with CommonPlace again.

What a powerful and intentional time! I was so incredibly grateful for the space to meet with and hear from Jesus, to worship, and to connect with other women and hear their stories. It’s so important and felt refreshing and renewing for me and in God’s perfect timing.

The most meaningful part of this experience for me was being able to experience God in more of a childlike and expressive way and also doing that in a small, intimate group environment. Heather did such a great job of creating a safe place for everyone and I appreciated that as this was a new and vulnerable way to experience God and what He had for each of us. There was no judgment or even feedback which was initially an adjustment but made it a really helpful and freeing experience to be a part of and safe.

This workshop taught me a lot about the value of experiential tools that God can use to help us connect more deeply with ourselves, with those around us, and with Him. I also can see how this can also help my own clients as a coach and therapist (and also myself) remember ways we can come back to the childlike parts of ourselves that we at times may disconnect from and this was such a helpful and gentle way to do that.
